  • Flooding in  Minnesota, USA
    -Flash-flood emergency declared in Duluth.
    -It is believed to be the worst flood since 1972 in the Twin Ports area and along the north shore of Lake Superior.
    -Highway 16 closed between Duluth and two harbors and also at the Silver Creek Tunnel.
    -Several animals at Lake Superior Zoo were killed by floods.

    -Flood watches issued for parts of western Manitoba near the Assiniboine River.
    -Up to 45 millimeters of rain reported in the last 24 hours in portions of the upper Assiniboine River.
    -The river overflowed south of the Shellmouth Reservoir.

    -TS Chris is located 910 km SSW of Cape Race Newfoundland. It is accelerating east-southeastward over the North Atlantic away from land.
