Earthquake hits Hollister, California

Another magnitude 4.2 hit the same area six minutes later. The later earthquake was stronger and occurred at the depth of 4.1 miles.


Tremors were felt in San Juan Bautista, Hollister, Ridgemark, Elkhorn, Prunedale, Las Lomas, San Jose, Fremont, Modesto, Salinas and Sunnyvale.

M 3.8 light earthquake shakes California today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 4km (2mi) S of San Juan Bautista. It was 3.9 miles deep.
