Rare hail storm jolts Tel Aviv, Israel – Flooding threat in Dead Sea area

Severe weather in Israel has brought a rare hail storm in Tel Aviv Sunday afternoon.

Recent weather system has also affected northern Israel with 20 centimeters of snow falling on Mount Hermon since Saturday, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The snow has blocked the local roads and the site have been closed to visitors.

The Israel Nature and Parks Authority has closed access to local streams in the area, including Hazazon, Tur, Tamarim, Kumran and Og due the threat of flooding in the Dead Sea area, The Jerusalem Post added.

According to Ynetnews, the weather caused the cancellation of Mimouna celebrations.
