Light earthquake recorded in Mesquite, Nevada

Magnitude 3.8 light earthquake rattled Mesquite City of Nevada at 6:49 am local time on May 5, 2016.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter was located 38 km S of Mesquite. The earthquake occurred at 6.9 miles depth.

Light to weak shaking have been reported from Littlefield, Bunkerville, Mesquite and Overton areas.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.
