  • Heavy rainfall and hailstorm in Northwest China
    -Death toll has risen to 57. Still 15 are reported to be missing.
    -Last storms and the subsequent flash floods and landslides affected about 358,000 people in Minxian.

    -Five forest roads in Botetourt and Rockbridge Counties closed.
    -Apple Tree Road, North Creek Road and Thomas Mountain road closed because of flooding.

Tropical Cyclone List
  • Tropical storm Aletta
    -Aletta has weakened to a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph (55 kph).
    -The depression is centered about 835 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California.

Natural Disaster News
  • Lightning in Magura, Bangladesh
    -Three killed and five other injured as lightning strikes Sadar and Mohammadpur Upazilas of Magura.
    -5-10 mm of rain is forecast in Dhaka Bangladesh from Friday evening to Saturday evening; higher amounts in thunderstorms.
