Recent Natural Disasters
  • Tornadoes in Vietnam
    -Tornado in three different  provinces of Vietnam  killed two people and destroyed more than 700 houses. At least 75 people reported to be destroyed.
    Soc Trang Province: Two tornadoes in just one hour killed one people and injured 59 others. A total of 110 houses were completely destroyed and another 226 damaged.
    Bac Lieu Province: A tornado killed one people and injured 12 others.
    Ben Tre Province: Four people injured. Storms destroyed 43 houses and damaged another 153.

  • M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Gulf of California (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 73 km SSW of Topolobampo. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Los Mochis, General Juan Jose Rios and Ahome (Mexico).

  • M 3.9 light earthquake in Kuwait region (@ 20 km depth) with epicenter located 52 km W Al-faw. It will have well felt by the people of Al-kuwayt  and Al-basrah.

  • M 4.6 moderate earthquake in Honduras (@ 36 km depth) with epicenter located 8 km SW of El Corpus. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Santa Rosa de Copan, Esquipulas and La Entrada.

  • M 3.3 weak shallow earthquake in Bosnia and Herzegovina (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located just 7 km E Zenica. It wll have well felt by the people of Kakanj and Zenica.

  • M 6.3 strong earthquake in New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea (@ 71 km depth) with epicenter located 34 km SE of Taron. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the peopel of Kokopo, Rabaul and Namatanai. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Panguna, Arawa, Kieta and Kavieng.

  • M 6.1 strong deep earthquake in Central Peru (@ 143 km depth) with epicenter located 34 km E of Pucallpa. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Pucallpa, Campoverde and Contamana. People of Porto Walter, Mancio Lima, Marechal Thaumaturgo, Tingo Maria, Huanuco, Cerro de Pasco, Yurimaguas and Moyobamba will have felt weak shaking of MMI II-III.

Ongoing Major Flash Floods: Australia (River Darling and River Murray), Brazil (River Tocantins, River San Fransisco and River Putamayo), China (River Mekong, River Yangtze and River Huang He), Colombia (River Japura and River Rio Negro) Ethiopia (river Blue Nile), Haiti, Indonesia, Madagascar, Nicaraguay, Nigeria (Benue), Pakistan (River Indus), Peru (River Ucayali and River Putamayo), Philippines, Sudan, Tanzania (River White Nile) and United States.
  • Flash floods in Naugatuck, USA
    -A state of flood emergency declared in Naugatuck following recent flash floods caused by heavy rainstorms.
    -Several building on 83 Prospect Street were evacuated.

Recent Volcanic Activity 
Erupting Volcanoes: Shiveluch, Etna, Erta, Nyiragongo, Senmeru, Sakurajima, Batu Tara, Ulawun, Bagana and Yasur Volcano.
  • New Zealand/Whakaari, White Island recent volcanic activity
    - A volcanic alert issued by GNS for White Island because of increased activity in the crater lake and numerous earthquakes.
    -The aviation colour code has been changed from green to yellow.

Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Typhoon Damrey
    -As of 01: 00 UTC, Typhoon Damrey was located approximately 365 nm south-southeast of Beijing, China.
  • Tropical Storm Saola
    -As of 01:00 UTC, TS Saola was located approximately 40 nm north-northwest of Taipei, Taiwan.
  • Tropical Depression Five
    -As of 01:00 UTC, TD Five was located 815 km E of the Windward Islands.
    -A tropical storm watch is in effect for Barbados, St. Vincent, The Grenadines, Dominica, St. Lucia, Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Natural Disaster News
  • Hailstorms in Oakland City, USA
    -Four people of southwestern Indiana county were injured in a hailstorm. Hailstorms also damaged homes and caused power outages.
    -Storms also also caused damage in other neighboring towns, including Mackey.
  • Wildfire in Murrieta, California
    -Three injured by recent wildfires near Murrieta.
