  • Heavy rains in Honduras
    -Three killed as a result of the torrential rains in northern Honduras.
    -Choloma River swept away two children  in La Jutosa, Cortes province of Honduras. Another died in a landslide in Baracoa, Cortes.
    -Heavy rains in Honduras caused flooding in Puerto Cortes and has blocked the road linking the town with San Pedro Sula, the largest city in northern Honduras.
    -Honduras (Yoro) which is world famous because of magical phenomenon called rain fish (Lluvia de Peces), phenomenon in which fish fall from sky along with rain. Yoro Fish Rain phenomena occurs every year. Since 1998 there is organized festival known as "Festival de la Lluvia de Peces" in Yoro city to mark this unusual phenomenon (Photo: Flooded street in La Lima Cortes, Honduras in 2008; AP).
  • Storm near Waroona, Australia
    -One killed  by a tree that fell on a cabin as severe storms hit Perth and Southwest Western Australia.
    -The man was staying at the Waroona Dam caravan park, also known as the Lake Navarino Forest Resort, near Waroona, south of Perth.
    -Storm also caused damage in Avon Vale Primary School including Terrace Hotel on Saint Georges Terrace and Beatty Park Aquatic Centre.
    -The worst hit areas include Wanneroo, Stirling, the Perth CBD, Rockingham, Mandurah and Cockburn.

  • M 3.2 light shallow earthquake in Syria (@ 7 km depth) with epicenter located 59 km NW Al-ladiqiyah. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Samandag.

  • M 5.9 strong seaquake near the North Coast of New Guinea, P.n.g. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Angoram and Madang. People of Wewak, Lorengau and Wabag will have felt just a weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 5.5 moderate earthquake near the Coast of Northern Peru (@ 12 km depth) with epicenter located 102 km W of Morrope. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Morrope, Lambayeque, Monsefu, Santa Rosa, Chiclayo and Eten. People of Catacaos, Piura, Chulucanas, Sullana and Trujillo will have felt weak shaking of MMI II-III.

  • M 4.5 moderate earthquake in Taiwan region (@ 81 km depth) with epicenter located 43 km SSE of Taitung City. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Hengchun, Kaohsiung and Yujing.

  • M 4.9 moderate shallow earthquake in Mendoza, Argentina (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located just 14 km WNW of Mendoza. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Mendoza, San Martín, Pocito and Caucete.

Recent Flash Floods
Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Afghanistan (Amu Darya), Australia (Darling), Brazil (Rio Paranaiba, Juruena, Purus and Tocantins), Chad (N Djamena), China (Mekong and Huang He), Colombia (Putamayo and Rio Negro), Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ubangi), Guatemala, Indonesia, Iraq (Euphrates and Tigris), Kenya (Bohoni and Turo), Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Sudan (Blue Nile), Taiwan, Tanzania (Mwanza Shinyango road), Uganda (White Nile) and United States (Rio Grande, North America).
  • The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for parts of Northern California. Huge storms and heavy rainfalls are predicted in Cazadero, Venado and other coastal hill.


Recent Volcanic Activity
Erupting Volcanoes: Propocatepetl, Fuego, Reventador, Villarrica, Stromboli, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Erta Ale, Marapi, Semeru, Paluweh, Gamalama, Lokon-Empung, Sakurajima, Ulawun, Yasur, Ambrym, Kizimen, Shiveluch and Kilauea volcano.
  • Guatemala/Santiaguito recent volcanic activity
    -Santiaguito volcano spread volcanic ashes within at least 4 kilometers radius.
    -The sand and ash has fallen in the departments of Quetzaltenango and Retalhuleu.
  • Japan/Sakurajima recent volcanic activity
    -Sakurajima volcano today erupted with large ejections of lava, static discharge lightning, and lava bombs (fireballs).


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Storm Bopha
    -Storm warnings remain in effect for parts of the Federated States of Micronesia.
    -Tropical storm Bopha is forecast to strike the Philippines as a typhoon on December 4.


Natural Disaster News
  • Tornado in Taranto, Italy
    -One worker of steel mill in Italian town of Taranto is reported to be missing. Tornado injured others 20.
    -Cars were overturned and several buildings were damaged in the disaster.
    -More thunderstorms are predicted in Italy and parts of the western Mediterranean. 
  • Wildfire in Takaka, New Zealand
    -One hectare of forestry and scrubland burned in Takaka Wildfire.
    -Three helicopters are currently battling Takaka fire.
    -The Takaka Volunteer Fire Brigade and Volunteer Rural Fire Forces from Upper Takaka, Wainui and Motueka are in the disaster area.

  • Heavy snowfall in Moscow, Russia
    -The snowstorm has dumped nearly 12cm (4.7ins) of snow in Moscow.
    -Snowfall also disrupted around 70 flights from Domodedovo, Moscow's largest airport.
    -Recent Moscow snowfall is the heaviest November snowfall in 50 years!
    -The snowstorm is forecast to continue until Friday morning.
