Recent Earthquakes
Did you feel it? - Report an Earthquake
  • M 6.1 strong earthquake in Sulawesi, Indonesia (@ 19 km depth) with epicenter located 120 km ENE of Luwuk. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Luwuk and Gorontalo. Peopl eof Tondano, Manado, Tomohon, Laikit, Laikit II (Dimembe) and Bitung will have felt just  a weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 4.8 moderate shallow earthquake in Ormuc City, Philippines (@ 14 km depth) with epicenter located close to Ormuc City. Following Phivolcs light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Dulag and Tolosa / Ormoc City.  People of Palo, Tacloban City and Leyte will have felt weak shaking of MMI II-III.
  • M 5.6 moderate earthquake in Kuril Islands (@ 39 km depth) with epicenter located 102 km S of Severo-Kuril'sk. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Severo-Kuril'sk.

Recent Flash Floods
Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Afghanistan (Amu Darya), Australia (Darling), Bolivia (Madre de Dios), Brazil (Tocantins), Chad (N Djamena), China (Mekong and Huang He), Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ubangi), Dominican Republic, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq (Shatt al Arab and Tigris), Kenya (Tana), Philippines, Sudan (Blue Nile, White Nile), Syria (Euphrates), Tanzania.
  • Flooding in Delta, British Colombia
    -North-westerly winds are expected to cause flooding in low-lying areas of Tsawwassen at risk (including Tsawwassen Beach, Westham Island and waterfront areas along the Tsawwassen First Nation).


Recent Volcanic Activity
Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Santiago, Poas, Reventador, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Raung, Erta Ale, Paluweh, Gamalama, Batu Tara, Sakurajima, Manam, Ulawun, Tolbachik and Kilauea volcano.
  • Ecuador/Tungurahua recent volcanic activity
    -An explosion at Tungurahua volcano generated a 2 km tall ash column and was followed by 3 blasts.
    -Explosion was strong enough to broke the windows of the church in Cusua.
    -There are also reports of falling gravel and small rock fragments in the sectors of CUSU, Cotaló, Pondoa, Runtún and Pillate.
  • Indonesia/Mount Lokon recent volcanic ativity
    -Mount Lokon volcano located in Sulawesi, Indonesia spewed fire and ash into the air today.
    -Volcanic ashes were spewed about 3,000 metres above the sky.
    -However there is no ash fall in the nearby Tomohon.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Cyclone Evan
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Evan was located 15 nm southwest of Nadi, Fiji.
    -More than 3,500 people are living in emergency shelters in Fiji. It is the biggest cyclone in 20 years that swept across the Pacific island nation.
    -At least four people were killed when Cyclone Evan hit Samoa.
