  • Flooding in Guayas, Ecuador
    -Flooding in Ecuador has claimed eight lives. Torrential rainfall caused flooding in Guayas region of Ecuador.
    -
    Two emergency shelters have been established for the flood victims.

  • M 3.5 light shallow earthquake in Greater Los Angeles Area, California (@ 16 km depth) with epicenter located just 2 km S from Loma Linda. It will have well felt by the people of Redlands, Highgrove, San Bernardino, Los Angeles Civic Center, Rancho Cucamonga, Mira Loma, Beaumont, Grand Terrace, Colton, Fontana, Redlands, Yucaipa, San Bernardino, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Norco and Corona.

  • M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Central Peru (@ 27 km depth) with epicenter located 89 km WNW of Campoverde. Weak shaking will have felt by the people of Uchiza, Tocache Nuevo and Pucallpa.

  • M 3.5 light earthquake in Oklahoma (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 6 km SSE of Tishomingo. It will have well felt by the people of Durant, Ardmore, Oklahoma City, Madill, Tishomingo and Denison (Texas).

Afghanistan (Amu Darya), Angola (Cotundo), Australia, Bolivia, Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (Rio Juruena, Araquaia, Purus, Tocantins), China (Mekong, Xi Jiang, Brahmaputra, Yangtze, Indus), Colombia (Rio Negro), Honduras, Iraq (Shatt al Arab), Kenya, Mozambique (Chire), Pakistan (Indus), Peru (Ucayali, Rio Maraon), Philippines, Sudan (Blue Nile), United States (Mississippi, Arkansas), Vietnam, Zambia (Zambezi, Likando).

  • Flash floods in Udhampur district in Jammu Kasmir, India have washed away 30 houses.


Recent Volcanic Activity
Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Reventador, Etna, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Erta Ale, Barren Island, Raung, Paluweh, Gamalama, Sakurajima, Kakar, Tinakula, Yasur, Tolbachik and Kilauea.
  • The volcano alert level for White Islands, New Zeland has been reduced to 1 and the aviation colour code has been changed to Yellow.

  • An avalanche in northern Colorado mountain has killed one skier and injured other.
  • About 30 schools have suspended their classes for a week after a quake-hit southwest China. Yesterday magnitude 5.5 earthquake in Yunna China injured 30 people.
