Heavy storm in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, has claimed lives of at least two people and injured four others.
Two people died after being crushed by falling trees while driving their motorbikes on Minh Khai and Nguyen Du streets in Hai Ba Trung District, Thanh Nien News reported.

Power outages have been reported in Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Ba Dinh, and Tay Ho districts, Tuoi Tre News mentioned quoting the Hanoi branch of state-owned utility group Vietnam Electricity.
The storm uprooted over 1,000 trees and damaged 140 roofs. The fierce storm lasted for about 30 minutes.
It is believed to be the strongest storm in last 30 years.

Deputy General of the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Le Thanh Hai said the wind force was estimated at 89-102kmh, the strongest seen in the capital city in the last 30 years, VnExpress reported.

At least 1,000 trees were uprooted, 139 houses unroofed, 21 utility poles damaged and 13 cars smashed, authorities said at a meeting on Sunday morning.
