Earthquake swarm of 23 earthquakes occur at Yellowstone Park


A small earthquake swarm of 23 earthquakes occurred at Yellowstone National Park region on October 13 and 14 (MDT), Yellowstone Volcano Observatory mentioned.

During October 2015, the University of Utah Seismograph Stations recorded total 83 earthquakes in the Yellowstone National Park (YNP) region.

The largest event was a small earthquake of magnitude 2.4 on October 13, at 06:23 AM MDT, located about 8.5 miles west of Old Faithful, WY.

Yellowstone earthquake activity in October remained at low background levels. The alert level of  Yellowstone volcano is “normal” and current aviation color code is “green.”

At least 112 earthquakes were recorded in the Yellowstone National Park (YNP) region in September 2015. Yellowstone National Park is the world's first national park located in the United States.
